Climate
Mayborg has a yearly average temperature of 15°C (59°F), with its average temperature during the summer being a warm 26°C (78°F) and its average temperature during the winter being a cold 4°C (39°F). Mayborg receives an average of 238 cm/y (93 in/y) of precipitation, most of which comes in the form of snow during the pleasantly short winter months. Mayborg covers an area of nearly 5 km2 (2 mi2), and an average elevation of 3052 m (10013 ft) above sea level.
Overview
Mayborg was founded durring the late 14th century in fall of the year 1260, by Ailudidae Gowland. The establishment of Mayborg suffered from many setbacks, delays, and obsticles, most notably a group of Mayborg which required millitary assistance exterminate before the community could finish being built.
Mayborg was built using the conventions of Sylvin durring the late 14th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Mayborg is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature waddle and daub construction with good timber frames and a stone foundation protected by thatched or shingled rooves. Most buildings with second floors are built in such a way as to overhang into the streets on the upper floors for more space, as building size seems to be the primary indicator of wealth within the community. Most buildings are not decorated with any integral features, but instead use ivy, flowers, and other natural elements in planters of on trellices to breathe life into the structure they grow upon.
Mayborg is is constructed arround a semi-circular restrictive baked earthen mainstreet, with smaller strait roads linking the circiles to eachother at varrious points. The town sits behind a stone-renforced palisade wall, with stone gatehouses and timber drawbridges for their trench. Unfortuantly, these would-be-castle fortifications are in extreem disrepair, so much so that one cannot tell if they are decaying from a lack of mantance or damage incured.
A look around Mayborg gives you an uneasy feeling. Everything is just a little too worn down, a little too dirty, or both. No one makes eye contact. Kids play quietly, but happily. Occasionally a passerby glances at you out of the corner of their eye, staring just long enough for it to be uncomfortable. A second look around Mayborg makes it abundantly clear the town suffered something horrible some time ago. It's as if the town itself is depressed. Smiles are few, cheer is nowhere to be had.
Civic Infrastructure

Mayborg has a public schooling program overseen by the Hall of Sages who has the responsibility of ensuring access to affordable high-quality education in all basic classes (Reading, Writing, Mathmatics, General Sciences, General Arcana, and Social Education) is made available to all citizens.
Cultural Notes
Two or more groups of citizens within Mayborg hate each other. Their neighbors or the local law have kept things from too-overt violence, but members of the groups will constantly interfere with their rivals and cause whatever misery they can get away with. This hate may spring from recent events, or it may be an inherited spite from old wrongs.
Mayborg's bank was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used is best known for the combined use of arcuated and trabeated construction, employing arches and constructed with post and lintel. The arch served as the style's chief structural element, with flanking columns serving as buttresses or decorations. While the general shape of their structures could be generously described as simplistic, the use of these arches and columns created a most distinct ascetic which is easily distinguishable on sight to armatures and experts alike.
In Mayborg every night at precisely midnight every structure in town is engulfed by sailors fire until the end of the witching hour.

Mayborg's citizens partake in a curious ritual relating to their local kami. It takes place in winter and involves orgies to channel Wild Magic energies of tier 2 via moments of science.
